Consider that identification with all that is not Self as Self without including all that is Self, too, perpetuates untruth and generates confusion and distortion.
To perpetuate a subject and object as a replacement to the whole of Self and orient ourselves to this object, we miss out on the whole as it is, and suffer the consequences of believing it apart. And that lie hurts. Separation from what we are, hurts. And we suffer this illusion.

Separation is how this world works. Connection is that of heaven. In connection you can be in the world, but not of it.
